School Ready Caterpillars Program
The School Ready Caterpillars Program at Caterpillar Kidz Early Learning Centre & Kindergarten is specially designed for children aged 3 and 4 years, supporting their journey towards a confident and successful start to school.
This program focuses on building strong foundations in early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and independence through a balance of play-based learning and intentional teaching. Each child is supported at their own pace, ensuring they feel secure, capable, and ready to take the next step into primary school.
At Caterpillar Kidz, we understand that every child is unique. Our experienced educators create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning, while gently guiding children toward key developmental milestones aligned with the Victorian Kindergarten program.

Our Approach
The School Ready Caterpillars Program combines play-based learning with intentional teaching to support each child’s development in a meaningful and engaging way. Our educators thoughtfully guide children to build language, explore early numeracy concepts, and make connections between what they see, hear, and experience.
Learning happens naturally throughout the day — whether children are building, storytelling, cooking, gardening, or exploring the outdoor environment
We incorporate high-quality resources such as Reading Eggs, Mathseeds activity books, phonemic awareness experiences, and hands-on projects to ensure learning is both enjoyable and purposeful.
Mathseeds
A research-based numeracy program that introduces children to basic maths concepts through interactive lessons, puzzles, and number games. It supports problem-solving, counting, number recognition, and early mathematical reasoning.
By incorporating these programs into our Preschool and Kindergarten curriculum, we provide structured, evidence-based learning experiences that prepare children for primary school success while ensuring they learn through play and exploration.
