Our Approach

The School Ready Caterpillars Program combines play-based learning with intentional teaching to support each child’s development in a meaningful and engaging way. Our educators thoughtfully guide children to build language, explore early numeracy concepts, and make connections between what they see, hear, and experience.

Learning happens naturally throughout the day — whether children are building, storytelling, cooking, gardening, or exploring the outdoor environment

We incorporate high-quality resources such as Reading Eggs, Mathseeds activity books, phonemic awareness experiences, and hands-on projects to ensure learning is both enjoyable and purposeful.

ABC Mathseeds at Caterpillar Kidz

At Caterpillar Kidz, we use ABC Mathseeds to help our Preschool and Kindergarten children develop a strong foundation in early mathematics through fun, interactive learning. The award-winning program introduces key numeracy concepts including counting, number recognition, patterns, measurement, shapes and problem-solving through engaging games, puzzles and guided lessons that progress at each child’s individual level. Aligned with the Australian Curriculum, Mathseeds builds mathematical confidence while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Reading Eggs at Caterpillar Kidz

At Caterpillar Kidz, we use ABC Reading Eggs to complement our early literacy and Kindergarten program and help children develop a positive relationship with reading from an early age. Reading Eggs uses engaging online lessons, games, songs, activities and e-books to develop essential literacy skills including phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. The program is structured and sequential, allowing children to build their skills progressively while learning at an appropriate level.

By incorporating Reading Eggs into our learning program at Caterpillar Kidz, we give children another fun and interactive way to practise letter sounds, word recognition and early reading skills, helping build confidence and prepare them for their transition to school. Most importantly, it makes learning to read engaging, rewarding and fun.

Ella Programme : Spanish

At Caterpillar Kidz, we are excited to introduce our preschool children to Spanish through ELLA (Early Learning Languages Australia). Using fun, play-based digital experiences called The Polyglots, children discover Spanish through activities they already love, including music, art, cooking, building and role-play. The program makes learning a new language engaging, natural and age appropriate, while also helping children develop cultural awareness, respect for diversity and curiosity about the wider world. Alongside language development, ELLA supports important social, thinking, literacy and digital skills, including memory and concentration. Our educators learn alongside the children, incorporating Spanish words, language and cultural experiences into their broader learning. At Caterpillar Kidz, it’s another way we help children Play, Learn, Belong and Grow.
